Help with Pass Key!!
Ok so I got a '90 camaro RS, my key is in great shape (so it looks) but every once in awhile i go out to start it and i get nothing, no click, nada, the gauges move and fuel pump kicks on but that damn security light comes on and stays on! its really annoying because it just does it out of the blue. I just went out there moved it up 3 feet then came inside for 2 mins then went back out and now im stuck its doing it again!!
i imagine that i need to buy a new expensive key for it
but since the key looks in great shape, anyway is there anyother cause?!?! any secret cures from anybody!!?!?! let me know!

You looked at the little metal tabs on the key where the chip is and everything looked good right. Only reason i ask is because i had one where the metal tab was halfway broken off and the car would start somtimes. I had to wait 15 min or whatever the time-out is on the alarm sys before i could try to start it again. If you have another key i would try that first.

Thanks guys for the FAST responses!!! the bypass route sounds like the way to go! will let u all know!
Here's another one for ya: so you know on like EVERY 3rd gen camaro/firebird the drivers seat starts to tear then the wires start coming out......eventually making it so u get stabbed in the ribs everytime u get in?!? well after about 4 ripped shirts i bought some thick leather like covers BUT it has ripped through, took longer then the others but still im back to the beginning, any suggestions for someone that cant afford the new apolstery job (didnt spell that right!) and cant seem to find any seats in my area that dont have that same problem!

get a big rubber tape and cover the tear,
then put a seat cover over them.
until i bought my new seats
my 29.99$ seatcover from autozone worked just fine for a year.

re
if you go to https://www.thirdgen.org/vats
it tells you how to do it rather well!
2 hours is a long time though, that's strange. mine would just have to wait the reset time 15 mins or so......
