engien rebuild question *NOOB Q*
ok, first of all I'm new to cars,
I took a class on engine basics, so I have a rough idea overall
but I dont have much physical experience on engines except for
during that one class I took.
Ima noob so plz be nice
and yes i did search
sooo.. my question would be if i want to rebuild my engine
one day,
Im thinking replacing the following:
head gasket, intake gaskets, main, rod bearings,
camshafts and lifters.
my question would be,
is all that doable with engine in the car?
and if yes whatelse am I overlooking or whatelse should i consider
replacing during the process of rebuilding?
and any1 know if a worn bearing that has 190k,
when its replaced to brand new will that help in engine performance since
it eliminates the clearance?

in advance ppl

It is possible to do it in the car. Gonna be a pain in the ***, but if that's your only choice then go for it. Some new bearings won't make a noticable difference but might add to the longevity of the car. In my opinion: if your engine has 190k miles on it, and you intend to keep it, pull it out and give it a full rebuild. But it depends on your resources and funds. Replace the oil pan gasket too since you're going to have to take that off anyway.
BTW, you only have one camshaft.

you'd want to replace all the gaskets, oil pump, timing set plus rings and bearings. you don't really know what all you want to replace until you get it apart and start inspecting parts. a change in oil clearance won't make a change in preformance.

In order to access the crankshaft, and other parts of the rotating assembly, you have to take the oil pan off--you can't get to them from up top...

If you plan on doing any kind of decent rebuild you will want to do it with the engine out. Why? To better inspect your investment. I do not know about you but I hate throwing money away if I do not need to.
Here is what you want to do and buy:
Head gaskets
Intake gaskets
Oil pan gasket(s)
Timing cover gasket
Water pump gaskets
Distributor gasket
Exhaust Manifold gaskets
Rear main seal
Also:
Piston rings
rod bearings
main bearings
(maybe cam bearings...maybe)
Buy a new:
water pump
Camshaft and lifters
Push rods
Oil pump & pickup
Distributor cap and rotor kit
wires
plugs
Timing chain
Optional:
Since you removed the heads might as well replace:
Valve springs,
retainers and keepers,
valve seals...
Do it right, If you skimp on parts you will pay in the long run I promise you.
