57K actual mileage??

I recently bought a 86 z28. I later found out that the car was stolen and had been stolen since 1988. The title I received with the car was for a diffrent camaro (1987 model). After a investigation by the dmv, I was able to obtain a salvage title for the car. The car is in very good shape, engine bay is very clean besides some dust, theres no oil, grit or grime on the engine, transmission, or rearend, and the interior is in perfect shape. The speedo and odometer works fine and I was wondering if the 57390 mile reading on the odometer was correct. Is there any way to tell?? Thanks - Charlie.

That would be a good start. You might also ask your DMV about the details of their investigation.

That mileage shouldn't be all that unbelieveable. My '86 is already up to 49,600 miles.

I got my 86 with 47,300 or so about 6 months ago. Without the 6th digit all you can do is go by Carfax\DMV info. If it checks out, cool!

Aside form a regular tuneup and rear brakes, its been runing like a champ!

Also, I saw an auction write up and they had a 87 IROC go for $10,600.
50,000 miles, clean form the lil pic I saw.....makes me feel REAL good!!
