I know this must be a reoccuring(sp) question but i dont know anything about cams but i got the hsr on now and im looking at a new cam. from what i know about cams, which isnt much, I picked out CRN-104221 from summitracing.com. I want to know if that is the type of cam I want and if it isnt, can somebody point me in the right direction? Lastly, when I change my cam out, what else do I need to change??

 

Well, I wish it was just as simple as "this looks good, let's try it!". Unfortunately the real world is never that easy. First off, what are you looking to see from the engine? Low end torque? Better 1/4 mile times? Awesome sound?

Second, a detailed list is helpful, going a little bit more than your sig, if that's the same vehicle you want to have this cam. What's the car weight?
Are the heads stock? The upgrades you have are a good start, although a TB upgrade isn't really necessary right off the bat. The cam you selected is a little on the mild side, and it's probably going to give you some nice low end torque more than anything else. Get back to us with a little more detail here and we'll see what we can come up with

 

car weight is 3300, looking for something to compliment the hsr setup, something that rpm ranges goes to 5500 looking for better 1/4 mi times and mid range to high end power. and yes it is the vehicle that is in my sig, heads are stock and anything not listed in my sig is stock.
