radiator has a small hole... melting beads quick fix

Ive got a small leak in my radiator and this guy at work told me about these small beads that you can pour into your radiator and they goto the leak and melt, covering the hole and fixing the leak. He said that autozone sells it. Have yall heard of this stuff and does it work? Thanks.

If the radiator core is aluminum, solder won't work.

To weld aluminum you need a TIG welder to do it right. How many home wrenches have a TIG welder?

Tin/lead solder will not stick to aluminum.

i have a GTAW welder, which is what people that don't know any better call TIG, and i'd fall in to the home wrench group. you know there are even some forward thinking people welding aluminum with GMAW process and a few people stuck in the dark ages using SMAW and still a few others using a torch.
you're right you can't use tin lead solder to solder aluminum, but that doesn't change the fact that with the correct solder and equipment it can be soldered

These radiators are a dime a dozen. If you're really worried and too cheap to get a good welder to do it or to replace the radiator, then JB weld it.
