my buddy is trying this on his lawn mower, I'll report our findings! But actually it is pretty cool. I wonder if it does anything?

There was a big discussion on this of another forum I frequent. General consensis was that this could work, but I don't know of anyone who has done any independant testing.

I have read alot about this on other forums. Interesting theories. Supposed to promote total combustion to all areas of the combustion chamber. I believe this will work best as the quench gets tighter.

yea, this was brought up once before.
Also it definately leads to increased chance of cracking.

I brought it up on the TBI board and the man that had done the modifications to his 193s joined and posted in the thread. It wasn't too long ago, maybe two months.

I never thought about the increased chance of craking. I was wondering if the grooves would creat a sharp area to promote detonation. Will the edges of the groove get hot and start glowing? Probably more likely on iron heads I suppose....

I have read about them before . They are calle danti reversion grooves. Used on single plane intakes , and with big overlap cams. It's been around for along time...before that guy did it anyhow.
