LO3 auto chirps 2nd?

Car details: lo3, 700r4, 2.73 posi, catback only, 215/65r/15 tires
I was on my way home from school today and I thought t would be fun to run the car full throttle through 1st and 2nd. On the 1-2 shift the car ran strong and shifted right at 5500 rpm and it actually chirped the rear tires . It suprised me so much I didnt even go through second I just busted out laughing. I was wondering if any one else has done this?

I've been trying. But no luck so far.

Of course I have wider wheels, stock gears, and a leaking transmission. So that may have something to do with it...

My 91 LO3 does it almost all the time , Check out my VB garage for mods. I'm running 255/50/16 tires. I can't wait to see what happens when I install the new 700R4 in it (B&M shift kit, vette servo, modified boost valve, and a V6 S10 converter)

The 700R4 in my 84 MSE will put the back end of the car into the next lane when it goes into 2nd at WOT, and every now and again hear a little chirp when going into 3rd. Running 3.73's w/ 245/50-16's

My stock 170k mile LG4 camaro would chirp second every time. Only mods were an 80 series muffler and a $500 rebuilt transmission with a couple washers in a strategic spot that's why

did a hell of a burnout too.

Mine does it too. About 3 min. after I start it before the engine and tranny get's warm. The weather has just cooled off after 90+ * weather all summer and the road surface is cooler too. The guy with 3:73's ain't got nothing to brag about, it ought to do it every time with those gears. Try it with 2:73's! A cheap shift improver kit will do it every time. After everything warms up about 15 or 20 min. it probably won't do it stock though. 5500 rpm? did you shift manual? If not, someone has thrown a reprogram kit in it before you got it. As far as the chirp, it was probably the right rear only, not TIRES! It's amazing how many reply to a post that aren't STOCK !

I didn't see the part in the original post where it was for STOCK ONLY cars.

Oh and on my car it is always the left tire that chirps.

When I installed a TransGo Performance shift kit, polyurethane transmission mount, aluminum driveshaft and posi rear with 3.42 gears the car would chirp from 1-2 easily, 2-3 occasionally, and even 3-4 sometimes (car on a slight upgrade). Except for an open element air filter, CFM-Tech TBI and bigger injectors the L03 and exhaust was stock at that time (except for a gutted cat). I also removed the smog gear and played with the PROM tune a little. I'm assuming that those mods couldn't have made that much of a difference on an otherwise stock engine.

I was surprised at how much performance was to be found relatively easily in the drivetrain without doing much to the engine. After that I got more serious about transmission, rear-end and suspension mods.

I let it shift on its own, since the tachs are so far off on these cars is was prolly around 5000rpm. So my posi car will only chirp one tire

I've had my honda spin the tires through all 5 gears before. doesn't mean I'm going any faster though

my 74 maverick with the straight six could sit there and let out one great smoke show as well in first gear but man it's kinda cheating also when you have studded snow tires on though.
