my engine makes a knocking noise,

OK guys here's whats going on. My 305 LG4 is making a light knocking noise. its coming from the passenger side of the motor in the back around the 6th and 8th piston. when the car is running and I'm standing in front of the car you can barley hear it, but when you stand on the passenger side of the car near the door you can berley hear it. its almost sounds like its coming for the exhaust pipe or something. i dont know. what could it be

Is this knock a 'clank' or a 'tick' sound? What does it sound like?

sounds like it might be an exhaust leak... check to make sure the manifold bolts are tight.

Yup, sounds like an exhaust leak to me too.. check the exhaust manifolds for loose bolts, and meaybe change the manifold gaskets.

my Iroc is knocking (rod) and when revved to 2000 or so it sounds horrible only when its warm and the oil is thinned out. But at idle its hardly noticible but know its time for the 350 build.
