JEGS High Performance - GM Performance Parts 350ci / 290hp Engine
GMPP "290hp" 350ci crate engine...part number 809-12499529 through Jegs. Would i be able to bolt the TPI intake to these style heads? how much power do you guys think this engine would make with TPI, appropriate injectors, and appropriate PROM tune? they say it makes 290hp with a 4bbl and headers. i have the headers lol. the cam is .450'' intake and .460'' exhaust. how would the TPI behave with this cam?
btw which is better, a one piece rear main seal or two piece?
thanks guys!

i'm not sure if your TPI setup will bolt onto those heads. I think that'd probably have 993 heads or the like. Maybe you have to elongate the bolt holes, not sure.
A 1 piece seal is the newer design, supposed to be less prone to leaking. I wouldn't put too much thought into that, probably assembled either style will work.
They don't mention LSA, but that cam has 222/222 duration. I think it's lame enough to work with TPI, if you feel like burning a prom.

buy a flat top shortblock
get a computer cam
buy some vortec heads
you will be much better off and I think you will make more power and keep it under 1600

Check out Paceperformance.com I have that motor and I got it from there a little cheaper. I think it's a good motor and it works well with my tpi, besides the fact it made its peak hp at 5100rpms. But once I got an exhaust and a tune it really woke up. I feel it puts me in the high 13's which is a little better than an L98. But yours is a 91 so it has center bolt heads so your intake manifold won't bolt up. I can't wait for the warrenty to run out cause then I'll start gettin some heads and cam. Good luck on your decision.
