Need Cam help
I am looking for a new cam.My motor is this
350 bored 40 over
Edelbrock Performer 600cfm carb
Edelbrock Performer EPS Intake
Hooker Competition Shorty Headers
Stock 305 Heads of a 305 from a 85 Trans Am
Dont know if this matters but
TH-700 R4
Transgo Shift Kit
2200-2500 Stall
Stock Rearend with 3.08 gears
True Dual 2in pipes into Glasspacks
I want a cam that gives me the most horsepower but work well with my engine.I also want a rough idle. This motor will be a weekend cruiser.

Unfortunately, a cam that works best with your combo, will not give a rough idle. Your engine is setup as a fairly mild setup, and a WILD cam (which will give the rough idle), will give you the worst of both worlds;
low end is bad due to camshaft
high end is bad due to induction
So your best bet would be a smaller cam, like a compxe262 or something in that ballpark.
Check the link at the end of my sig, might give you some insight if you're hoping to learn more on the subject.

for a low meaner sound... get rid of the glass packs, go to a 2.25 or 2.5 inch pipe and run Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. You can always crank on the idle screws on the carb to make it idle like crap. Sounds cool but isn't good for the engine.
