rather lopey problem...
(looks like i have to do this) my little brother has a 87 Z28 305 TPI
700R4 accel coil with 2 wire adapter
that had randomly died after parking it but it had been doing this on and off for maybe a week where it would get parked for the night and wouldnt start the next morning but one day it just wouldnt start. tried it a couple of times randomly it starts and runs normal until you put it in gear after that it wouldnt start again... so i looked at fuel pressure the pump would build up pressure but when you released the pressure the pump would not turn back on even when turning the key off and back on had to wait a minute or so...we replace the ORIGINAL fuel filter cause it was wasted had black junk and god knows what else in it. still wont start would sound like it wanted to but wont do it, we replace ignition module now the car will start but only if you force too with at least 3/4 throttle (and is incredibly difficult for the starter to turn the motor unless you go WOT) once it does start you can get it down to about 1500 with out it dieing any lower and it is 50/50 shot and it seems to be firing a couple cylinders at the wrong time... when it is cranking you get good sized puffs of white exhaust out the TPI but the distributer hasnt been moved i have tried to tighten the hold down clamp and i couldnt then i tried to turn the dissy and it wouldnt buge.... could this be the pick up coil or could the cam have jumped several teeth? any help is good help ATM cause he has got it stuck blocking the drive way and Momma is gonna kill him soon
