i dont know where this is suppose to go but my car want come off of the high beams. i can pull the lever but it dont click down under the dash. i know what the problem is, its the little box that the rod connects to is broke but i dont know the name of it to buy a new one. whats it called and where do i get it. please help. thank you

 

It's called a "dimmer switch".

You get it at, of all places, auto parts stores. It's about $12.

Try adjusting yours first. They don't usually go bad; rather, the rod gets bent a little or the hardware that holds the switch on gets loose.
