'86 Throttle Body on '90 TPI

I recently put a 350 from a '90 IROC into my '86 to replace the 305TPI. I had to use my 305 TB cos the one that came with the '90 was missing the base plate for the coolant and IAC.

The only way I can get the 350 to idle is by turning the screw on the TB all the way through so the base idle is about 700 rpm.... at least the car is drivable even though it is O2 lean at idle.

I have just learnt the '90 plenum doesnt quite match up to the base of the 86 TB. Apparently there is a whole missing to let air in from the IAC. Is fixing this a matter of pulling the TB off and drilling through the plenum? If so, is it easy to do and will i be able to tell where the hole needs to be drilled?

someone has shown me this article which explains it. my next question is if i didnt want to drill the hole but instead get a different plenum, are all plenums compatible with the '90 runners?
