how to bring it back down?

i know there's probably an obvious answer to this, but there's a decent amount of threads on how to jack our cars up, but how do you properly bring it back down? i've got it up on 4 jackstands and a big hydraulic jack. is it possible for me to try and "feather" the jack so to speak, and release all pressure and then quickly turn it back and bring it back down little by little that way? i'm sure it isnt healthy to just let it drop...right? so how do you guys do it?

Get a proper jack you can slowly loosen to bleed the pressure.

i think your jack might be defective.

I can "open" the valve on my jack and it lets it down slowly depending on how far i have it open.
