I thought I should start a thread talking about how we got our cars, first cars, our first thirdgens...

I am only 15, and I grew up loving the mustang. I have been hunting for a car for about a year and I haven't had much luck. So I did some research, learned about camaros, firebirds, and other cars, and it expanded my horizons a little. So one day after my guitar lesson, I was hungry for Taco Bell after having it in a dream... So we pass this exoctic car dealer on the way down... it has Jaguars, mercedes(sp?), BMW, and some other weird cars... and we been there before and they were selling a 2000 Mustang GT for $16K, I know, way too much for a first car... So anyways out the corner of my eye I see a white and red striped Camaro, and I thought that thing must cost a ton, but we stop on our way back anyways... To my surprise it only costs $3777... I check the sides and its a Z28!! We get the phone number/Vin, and my dad (since it was sunday) goes down the next day and puts down $100 (so if it passed our mechanics inspection we would buy it) ... 5min after he left a kid came in wanting to buy the car...he was so mad because he was there sunday wanting to buy the car but thery were closed... apparently he left crying... I probably would of too, just kidding... So tuesday, I am in school and I might/might not get the car...

So 8th period my dad pulls up in our little Cavalier to the window to park and wait to pick me up... I didn't notice my whole family in the car till I got in, I thought something was up... so right before we got on out big hill to my house...he slowed down and asked if I wanted it, and I said yes... and as I said it... the camaro was parked outside my house! Of course I was excited and was flipping out.... You know my first car.... so we were all taking pics and such and later I learned of it only selling for $3100 because the dealer said "it ruined the look of his lot" well yea it stuck out like a sore thumb....

So now it sits in my garage constantly getting pampered... and due to its PA and winter, you would expect it to be sleeping in my garage... well its been the weirdest winter and there is no snow.... so for christmas its getting new gears and a shift kit....

First car was a 1978 MG Midget Special Edition. It was 3 years old and had 20000 on odometer. I could take it out Saturday night, then spend all week fixing it. My payment was 130. a month and 125. a month for insurance. That was 1981 money, Min wage was 3.13 and you could live like a king on 20000 a year. Sold it after 8 months and purchased a 1973 Vega for 60.00. First 3 rd gen was 2005. I was at work in the middle of the day, on the busyist street, in front of a police station, my voyager was stolen. Looking for a car it was sitting beside the road, a 1987 Firebird. Paid 2500.00 for it. I drove it to work for 1 month before I quit the job and went into business for myself. The car is driven once a week, if that

 

My first car was a 1976 Firebird with the Big Block 400 and a 2 barrel carb that I paid 1100 for,ugh. That car got 150 miles to the tank and was a gutless pig.But I will say it got me from Charlottle NC to Salt Lake City Utah in one piece.

 

My first car is the Camaro I have now, I've had it for almost 5 years. Lots of good and bad times. Doing donuts in the teacher's parking lot back in HS, totally humiliating one of my old HS friends with a '98 SVT Mustang Cobra out on the highway right near the school, chopping off my exhaust system in shop class and firing it up INSIDE the shop... that got a few peoples attention, including the math teacher down the hall who's class I was skipping at the time, lol.
