Stock Cranks

Hey everyone,

Im looking to build a nice 350. It isnt going to be a massive 500hp engine, but im hoping to get 350hp.

Id like to know if stock cranks can hold up to this power.

Also would like to know if the stock rods can take much power.

Thanks.

Sheldon

No problem. A lot of us are past the 400hp level running a stock crank. Matter of fact I hope to be pushing the 500hp level with a stock crank.

Thanks for the info!

Would the rods hold up to much?

Rods will be fine too. Just get strong bolts. Thats the most important thing involving rods.

stock crank and rods are fine

i'd get hyper or cheaper forged pistons like TRW if you can afford them.

ARP bolts for rods and mains will be where the most money should be spent as they are crucial.

Right, for the horsepower level you are talking about stock rods are fine. Heck my current 400HP plus motor has them. However on my new build hopefully 500hp motor I went to the GM PM rods and ARP bolts.
