anyone running a Comp 306S??

ok just what the title says.. anyone running a 306S??
306* adv, 260* @.050", .555" lift, etc..

i have a question about degreeing that thing.. i've heard that you should advance it 4 degrees because it is not ground with the same 4 degrees advance like the other magnum cams are.. i installed my cam straight up and i am wondering if i do the 4 degrees advance will it give me more power?? sadly i'm only in the quest for 11's with a cam like this.. still stuck in the 12's.. thanks

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
i've heard

"I've heard" the Earth is flat too.... hasn't yet made me alter my travel arrangements...

AFAIK it's ground on the same ICL as the others; 106° ATDC IIRC.

As far as whether changing the cam timing will "give you more power", that's anybody's guess. It's a tuning adjustment. Generally if you advance the cam, you move the peak torque & HP RPMs downward, and if you retard it, you move them up. Maybe 75-100 RPM per °, max. So as to whether your car will go faster, that would depend on gearing, weight, transmission, converter, and a whole lot of other influences.

Try it and see. It's the only way you'll ever know.
