What do you think I will put on the ground?

My setup is.....
383 c.i LT1 intake port matched to angle milled Trick flow 195cc aluminum cylinder heads, comp cams 230/236 .510/.520 max lift 114lsa cam, 10.1:1 compression on 25cc dished pistons, 5.7 rods, bbk underdrive pulley's, Cold Air intake, hooker long tube headers, mufflex off road y-pipe, flowmaster catback, th-350 trans with 3500 stall , 12 bolt rear with 3.73's. And its going to be Dyno tuned, Any estimates as to what kind of power I might get on the ground? Thanks.

I will say thats about right. Its all a guess but I will throw out 335rwhp and 390+rwtq as a guess.

Let's see. Auto with 3500 stall. I will say 355rwhp.

Hmm, since you're getting it dyno tuned then you'll actually give an answer, this intrigues me.

I'll say 310RWHP, 375RWTQ

My 396 LT1 with the same cam, 11.1 to 1 compression , CNC ported LT1 heads, ported intake, 58mm throttle body, Long Tubes(1 3/4), 2800 stall, 3.75 gears in my Vette tuned by PCM forless makes 425rwhp/428ft/lbs tq.
Still working on open loop tune, but I think you will make close to 400rwhp.

You've got a full point more compression, more cubes, CNC'd heads and lower stall. He wont make that much. Not to mention the power curves are going to be completely different between your two motors.

Remember though, HP numbers aren't everything.

Yep, I have a whole 13 cu inches, and his Trick Flow heads are better than mine, as mine are factory cnc'd heads. I think the Trick FLows are pretty darn good, and the point of compression helps a little bit, true.
But a hot cammed LT1 makes 350-360hp with factory stall or six speed, with headers. So, I think the 310-330rwhp is a little low. Actually very low.
Just my opinion though.

We'll see. I'm sticking to my 320. His setup is very similar to mine, but he's got a bunch of power robbing goodies.Mine made 425fwhp and 360rwhp. Bolt on all the pulleys, LT1 intake, higher stall converter a Ypipe and a 12 bolt and he'll be down around the 320 mark.

Re: What do you think I will put on the ground?

Well went to the dyno tune today and got it all tuned up. When we got there we did a base run and had a 14.5 a/f ratio and put down 308 hp and 322 torque it looks like converter flash . Then we got the a/f ratio right at 12.8 to 13 and we put down 315 hp and 374 torque which looks like some converter flash or something. The average torque went from 290 (first run) to 300 (second run). So i was basically told that with the automatic and the 3500 stall converter that i was not going to get accurate hp and torque numbers. Which looks like was true because those numbers are way low, my buddys stock lt1 with a ram air setup long tube headers and exhaust puts 306 hp down through a 6 speed , And there is no way im only putting down 10 more hp with a fully modded 383. And they were both on a dyno jet.

I know that that stall is sucking alot of power from ya, so with that said the #'s dont look bad at all, but the true test will be at the track

Re: What do you think I will put on the ground?

Your numbers are low. Did you degree the cam in? Was this on a Mustang dyno? Something is not right. The high stall will eat up power but I have one too. Can you post the dyno graph?

I will enable my signature so you can compare things. By the way do you know what your dynamic compression ratio is? Mines at 8.5:1.

A dyno is only as good as the tuner running it.

Take it to the track. I'm willing to bet the numbers aren't too far off.

Re: What do you think I will put on the ground?

My cam is degreed and it was on a dyno jet and my compression is 10:1. The tune was done by kennedy's dyno tune and im pretty sure he knew what he was doing.
Is my car suppose to put low numbers down then go really fast at the track???

Re: What do you think I will put on the ground?

The track will tell the tale. Your mph will be a gage as to how much power you are making. The dyno is only a tool and the output will very from dyno to dyno. So as the above poster said take it to the track and let us know how you did.
