Sell the car to me. Man I love that year, and it's in gorgeous shape...
How fast do you want it? (or, how much do you want to spend?)
Drag racing your thing? Fast street car?
When you post some answers to those we can give you more detailed answers, but also check out the FAQ board, most of the common modifications (fixes to the most common bottlenecks) are listed there.

motor swap to a 355 with a procharger.. that will definetly WAKE HER UP.. lol it must be a 305 so i'd say a cam, intake manifold, a 600 holley carb, and headers.. for more power, get heads and gearing..

headers, intake, cam, swap out rear gears, etc etc Nitrous, 350 swap and so on. You can't compare a 25 year old car to today's engines and expect to move up in technology and HP cheaply. Heck, you want to beat your vette and mustang....20k and buy mine

What year of mustang GT? Yours, or an '83 GT?
Is your '83 the L69 or the LG4 motor? ie, is it the HO 305, or the regular one? (dual snorkle air cleaner means HO, along with badging. H as the 8th digit in the VIN means the low output).

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Amazing... that car looks EXACTLY like mine, except that mine has newer wheels on it, and of course mine doesn't have those :barf: mud flaps. Looks like it's even a HO one, although the picture is too fuzzy to be sure.
Does that car have the composite (non-metal) hood?

Something like this one sofa?
Your '98 Mustang probably spits out 300+ HP then, I think the factory rating on that year was around 260-300HP, so with intake an exhaust...
You'd need a pretty wild 305 to beat that, so we might as well say you need a 350. Around 350HP and it'd be the pride of the driveway. Do you want a crate motor or build it yourself?

That's nice.
So do you want to do the intake and cam, or do you want results?
