Sealant for freeze plugs

What kind of sealant do you guys use when you install your freeze plugs, i need to install brass ones if that makes any difference.

If the block is in good shape and not pitted by corrosion they don't need sealant, but a little RTV doesn't hurt.

i have always used something like Permatex #3 & had good results.

same here, freeze plugs isn't some place i'd want RTV.
