Cam Break in troubles
I recently installed a new flat tappet lunati cam, trickflow heads, and a edelbrock tpi manifold. I installed the cam at dot to dot. Pointed the rotor at the #6 post on the dizzy, and this afternoon i attempted to break it in. After about 3 minutes the headers were glowing bright red, had a small coolant leak and my brother said he heard some lifters ticking. It was running reaaaaal rough i had a hard time jus trying to keep it between 2,000 & 3,000 rpm it was all over the place, so i shut it down. I know i need to recheck the valve lash and do something with the timing? Im guessing I need to advance it? CounterClockWise to advance? Should the EST wire be disconnected?
