Engine: 85 5.7L Small Block
Transmission: WC T5
Axle/Gears: 96 disc LT1 3.23 Auburn 10 bolt.
86 IROC oil pan

Stupid question, but whats the best way to replace to oil opan on my 305? i know i have to life the block off the frame. but how much? or is it easier to remove the motor entirly?

i just did that same thing yesterday... i thought ti was gonna be a really easy job but it wasnt..... i lefted it up with two floor jacks... one one the balancer and one one the corner of the back...... i lift one motor mount on so it didnt come intirely out of alignment....... the only thing that is really holding it in there is the opil pump so when you get enough room unbolt the oil pump it makes the job much easier....... good luck..


and make sure to unhook the exhaust.....
