seafoam treatment

just poured some b12 chemtool (basically seafoam) down the booster vaccum line in my 2.8. she didnt like that idea 1 bit, wouldnt even idle w/o throttle input with the line off. i did manage to get half the can in but wow i never saw the car surge so much on its own. i hope it works well, i think shes dirty on the inside causing some ticking, the motors only got 74k. anyone else use this?

seafoam is mostley water, chemtool is all chemicals. I use seafoam and swear by it, but i only use chentool in the oil before a change evrey once in a while.

Re: seafoam treatment

Try a smaller vacuum line to administer whatever cleaner you choose. The brake booster line is a huge vacuum leak.

Re: seafoam treatment

yeah chemtool was crap. i wasnt happy so i went out and got seafoam, what a difference, i almost smoked out my neighbor hood, car took half of the can before she called it quits with my girl on the pedal about 2500rpm. not much smoke on the drive, but it smoked like hell when i was applying it, i had to hold my breath for like 45 seconds and then when the car stalled my girl runs out into the house yelling that stink omg i cant breath haha because her window was down.

Re: seafoam treatment

i swear by seafoam, i use it regularly in all of my cars. they always run bettedr after i use it, but it usually runs a little rough when you are pouring it in. after that they always run wayyy better.

Seafoam is light oil, alcohol, and naphtha. No water.

Re: seafoam treatment

What are you guys treating ? Are you trying to get the carbon off the valves ? Will it affect the o2 sensor or the cat ?
