Used whole seafoam can...no thick exhaust at all...
I let the engine suck it in from the pipe going from the passenger side PCV that used to be "plugged" into the rubber intake boot (I've replaced the intake, it isn't "plugged" into anything now.) I used a little more than half of the seafoam in there, some into valve covers through oil cap and some through the TB with car off but most of that just ran right back out.
I let it sit for 5 minutes not running.
Let it run for 5 minutes after that, but no thick fumes ever came from the exhaust... maybe my car is just sparkly clean on the inside?
This happen to anyone else who has used it?

umm....... The way you describe it, was it sucking into the crankcase or the intake !!

You need to let it sit for more than 5 minutes, I let mine sit for 2 hours. Some people even let it sit overnight, the longer it sits the better the results. I ran half through the PCV hose, 1/4 in the crankcase and the rest in the gas tank and it worked great.

I haven't seafoamed this car yet but on my 99 R/T Ram I use it all the time. It will probably take another application for you to see all the smoke. I read that if the car is high mileage then the first can will start breaking down the deposits. The second will do the burning, I didnt see smoke in my truck till the second bottle. When it did smoke it was ALOT. The police had complaints on it and now I have to drive into the country to seafoam lol.
The PCV is always preferred over the brake booster because it vaporizes the Seafoam better and is higher pressure. You should unplug the vacuum hose from the PCV valve and the other end should be connected to the air intake manifold or the throttle body.
Thats about all I know, I haven't looked around for the PCV valve on this car.

I usually use about half a can in the air intake system, but when it comes to your oil or gas make sure there is enough to dilute it. I think in the oil you are suppose to use about 1 oz per quart of oil, and in the gas make sure you have at least half a tank and put about 1/3 of a can.
And can some one tell me where the pcv valve is on a 86 305 TPI. I dont know if its the hose that connects the driver side valve cover to somewhere under the TPI intake or the hose on the passenger side that connects to the throttle body?

Re: Used whole seafoam can...no thick exhaust at all...
I just seafoamed my 88Z (350TPI) the other day, THAT was a smokeshow! My brother was in the car, he literally got smoked OUT OF the car. My dads suburban was parked behind and to the right of my car, you couldnt see the truck from all the smoke, and the truck is 17-18ft long! I seafoamed the heck out of it though, it sat for a while and when i got it the oil was BLACK. Real bad. I ran it thru the tank, oil, TB and brake booster line. I never heard of the PCV being any better, ill try it next time. It helped the idle dramatically, and throttle response was noticably better too. I love seafoam, i call it magic-in-a-can lol
But it is CRUCIAL to revv the daylights out of your engine while doing seafoam treatment. If your just letting it idle all your doing is wasting seafoam basically.
I dont take it out and drive it, i just revv it real good in my driveway, nobody complians or minds, and quite a few of my neighbors where outside and saw. A few laughed lol.
Some people let it sit overnight and for several hours, but from what i read on seafoams' website thats not necissary. They said 15-20 min, to let it breakdown the carbon better. I cant imagine it would hurt to do it any longer, but i never have and have always got great results in just 15min.
R/T-Z-28, arent they both PCV's? I always thought they both were, but honestly i've never looked that closely at them.

Worth mentioning that you should be changing the spark plugs AFTER this Seafoam procedure. Pretty sure you'll find the electrodes all sooty or caked on with gunk from all the combustion chamber decarbonization.

I think the only pcv valve is on one of the valve covers. Idk of any other. As for the PCV being better than the brake booster. I have no real proof or evidence. That's just what I was told on the Dodge Ram forum for my truck. It might not apply to all vehicles.

Re: Used whole seafoam can...no thick exhaust at all...
The trouble you can run into on your dodge truck is the seafoam can puddle on the bottom, it might even ruin the gasket there.

Re: Used whole seafoam can...no thick exhaust at all...
Yes that was one of the problems mentioned. Pooling in the intake was believed to be caused by using the low pressure booster. They told me the pcv was higher pressure and would help vaporize the seafoam better.
The intake you posted is pre 96 I think. My 99 intake doesnt come with the center barrier and I cut and smoothed the ruuners back after fixing the plenum leak. Hopefully that will also keep the chemical from pooling in crevices.
