Comp Cams Pro Mag Roller Rockers and Valve Covers

I was doing some test fitting with the valve covers I just bought today. I bought the GM# 12497979 valve covers which are a 1/4" taller than production covers and are center bolt. I also bought the rubber valve cover gaskets.

While test fitting, I noticed that the roller rockers are going to hit the pcv stuff inside the valve cover. I can remove that contraption, but then the pcv valve will suck oil won't it?

I tried to do a search on the subject and found one thread with a link that someone posted, but the link no longer has the article on what to do.

Has anyone run into this before and how did they handle it?

My engine is an 87 350 bored 60 over, ZZ4 cam, ZZ4 aluminum heads, and the valve covers I mentioned earlier.

Thanks for any and all suggestions, opinions, and advice!

Thanks,

Pat

Take a pair of large pliers and just crush the baffles until they no longer interfere with the rocker trunnions.

By crushing the baffles, won't that defeat their purpose? Would removing them work just as well or would it suck oil through the pcv valve?

No; I just crush them to where they're just narrow enough to fit down between the rockers. They work fine.
