Need more information but it could be the fuel pressure regulator.

But fuel should not be dripping, period, from the injectors.

Re: fuel dripping from injectors

First check your fuel pressure. Not sure what you should have on a crossfire.

The 82 Cross Fire engine had a normal fuel pressure of 9 - 13 psi. The 83 engine should have the same values.

There are three pages for the diagnostics for the Fuel Delivery System on the 82 Cross Fire. One sheet is the electrical schematic, one sheet checks out the electrical connectiions and signals to the TBI and the third sheet checks out the fuel flow to the TBI units. I will try and scan these and post them, but it will be a few days, as I have to work on my taxes first.

The regulator is internal to the injector body itself. If one or both are bad it might be a good idea to rebuild the TBIs, as you have to partly disasemble the unit anyway.

GCMCMAHAN

I don't know if you figured out your problem yet, but I have scanned some trouble shooting charts from the 82 Camaro Service manual for the CrossFire engine. I suggest you right click on the image below and "Save AS" to your computer. Then open the file in some picture viewer software so you can rotate and zoom in to read them. This first image is Chart 4A which is general trouble shooting when the engine cranks but won't start. Your condition is on the right side of the chart. Charts 5A sheets 1 and two are also posted. Note that there will be a following message with the schematic diagram, so you can see the wiring and plumbing.

If you need expolded views of the TBIs let me know and I will scan them in. The manual also has the removal and installation of the injectors if you are interested.

Let us know if you get this problem fixed
