Re: oil sending unit

I have an 84 z28 and mine is located on the drivers side right behind the intake manifold. I believe yours should be in the same place.

Re: oil sending unit

Well there are to locations for the sending unit. 1 and I believe the most common is on the driver side on top of the motor right behind the intake manifold. 2 is right above the oil filter .

Re: oil sending unit

my 84 TA has it behind the intake. and my 87 camaro had it above the oil filter. those are the only 2 I've seen too.

In general, EFI models (TBI, TPI) will have the oil pressure sending unit/oil pressure switch combo above the oil filter.

Carb'd engines will have the oil pressure sending unit behind the intake manifold.

Re: oil sending unit

E4ME engines have the switch at the oil filter also, pretty much any 1980 and up carb engine, i dont think ive ever seen anything '80 and up without it, two spade connector,

good luck

Only if it had the in-tank electric pump, which was only standard on the '87 model year.

My '86 doesn't have it above the oil filter.

Re: oil sending unit

My 87 has it behind the distributor and way down there sticking up on a stem with another oil pressure sensor on it. It's way back there. It only took a small wrench and a few minutes to change mine. Mine was a large silver can with a spade terminal. It is for the oil pressure gauge. The small one I think is for the light.
