max lift for stock L98 heads

anyone kno the max lift for the centerbolt iron stock L98 heads? car is an 87 formula350 with the stock heads and cam etc, intake work done as well as complete exhaust and chip etc...

wanted to throw in one of these cams for some extra kick.... but idk what the stock max valve lift of the stock heads are...i have 1.6 aluminum roller rockers as well i would like to stick on but the extra lift with these cams might be a prob.

Re: max lift for stock L98 heads

Duration and LSA will have a MUCH larger effect on the operation of your engine than peak lift will. Adding 1.6s to a stock cam will add a few hundredths to your lift and a handfull of horsepower. Yes, you can use 1.6 rockers with the stock cam, no problem. But changing the duration and LSA of your cam (even if the lift is identical) can have a FAR more dramatic impact on your engine's output and operating RPM range, with proper tuning.

Re: max lift for stock L98 heads

so it would be smarter to just throw in the new cam vs, adding the 1.6's to my stock cam?
obv i wouldnt be able to run the first crane cam with 1.6's bc i dont have enough valve lift with the stock head spring, so the first crane cam and 1.5's will be ok...wat kinda hp numbers increase should i be looking at?
