General valve cover questions

Looking to dress up the engine bay some and either get a slick looking set of silver or chrome valve covers. Down the road, I will likely replace the heads, intake, and cam on the L98. I'd imagine this will involve new rockers, push rods, etc.

Is there any consideration I should make towards valve cover selection with these goals in mind? I see there are standard height and tall valve covers?

Where can I find some decent silver or chrome ones for cheap? Prefer no cheesy logos or anything...

Re: General valve cover questions

go with the tall ones, typically roller rockers wont clear the shorter ones

Re: General valve cover questions

From personally buying a set of chrome ones from Autozone, I would give anything to go back and get a different set because not even a year later, my chrome valve covers are starting to "Lose Their Luster" per say, from the heat.

Re: General valve cover questions

chrome definately sucks hardcore. It looks absolutely amazing the first 6 months or so. Then it starts to rust and what not. But like mentioned above I would personally reccomend the tall valve covers, So in the future when you rebuild the motor or put roller rockers on the heads, You wont have to buy new valve covers

Jegs has a set of Tall, Polished Aluminum ones for a decent price, I believe right at $100. Might check those out.
