alright i have an 89 iroc in the process of getting a 383 built for it what i need to knjow is what you guys have done to your car and what you have found succesful i plan on making my car a street strip driver mainly for weekend driving and the occasional weekday warrior
so i ask if you were in my shoes what would you do?
Parts list:
383 rollor
t5 trans
msd ignition
hooker super comp headers
3" flowmaster catback
electric cutout
a/c delete
steel braided brake lines
17" 255f 275r vetter wheels
now im not concerned with interior or paint im more concerned with the performance aspect of things

I'd save the money for the electric cut-out and put it toward a better transmission and rear end.
I probably wouldn't go with Flowmaster, either.
For the strip, I'd go with 15" sticky tires.
Put the engine together with good parts, especially the valve train and rods.

Re: what would you do?
basically what five7kid said.. you dont need a cutout.. the rear and trans will not last long with a 383.. maybe an aluminum girdle for the rear.. and the 17's will have to go if you want a chance at hooking on the strip.. or if you want to stay with it, run drag radials instead of regular street tires.. maybe some boxed LCA's or tubular ones and LCARB's..

Re: what would you do?
If you dont havem already do your self a favor and get a good set of subframe connectors, and as 57 stated a t-5 won't last very long behind anything that puts out decent power. I will last for a while if you baby it but that sorta takes all the fun out of driving it.. save for something stronger like a TKO or t56 among others.. also as pointed out our factory rears are pretty weak, there are serveral ways to strenghten em up like someone already mentioned a girdle can help, welding the tubes, and a soild pinion spacer along with a good set of gears, but the best thing to do is swap it out for something much more durable like a 9 inch of 12 bolt..

Flowmaster=Flubbermaster. At least that's what I call them. Lol. I'm running the Edelbrock RPM 3" catback on my car, and it sounds great. All Flowmasters do is sound all burbly and gurgly. Another catback alot of f-body members here really like for the price and sound quality is the Hooker Aerochamber system.
