my engine only knocks at 2500 RPM why?
I have a 83 Camaro that has a GM Goodwrench 350 crate engine and it now knocks at 2500 rpm and i have no clue why....any help would be awsome

it has a rodchester quadrajet and im not sure on the distributor i have a couple of bad wires though (found them today)

If the carb and distributor are stock, then that's good. If either but not both has been replaced with a non-computer type, that's bad.

I had a simmular problem I think.Does it only knock at 2500 and stop at higher rpms?If so when I pulled my motor I found the bearings were down to the copper on the rod bearing.It would only knock around 3000rpm or so but not above or below that.The motor only had about 1000 miles on it too.

it will knock only when i have the gas pedal down more than a quarter of the way if not i can go through all the way to 4500 and no problem if i put it all the way down to the floorboard it knocks bad on only let me go to 3000 and thats it...i noticed that it struggles when its floorboared and not when im bearly on it
