Re: to much flow out

I'd suggest trying an intake gasket first.... they often fail around the heat riser ports, which connects the exhaust right straight into the crankcase.

Re: to much flow out

The intake gaskets.... between the intake and the heads, where the intake bolts on.

Be careful what you ask for, in case you get it....

Re: to much flow out

have you done a compression test on the engine? to know the rings are bad?
or are you just guessing because you see some "smoke" in the valve covers

How do you know that? They could be, of course; but they're FAR from the only thing that can cause the symptom you describe. Wouldn't it SUCK if you spent $1500 - $2000 fixing a problem that didn't exist in the first place?

The compression test is a good idea. Will tell you right away if you have ring problems.

The way an intake gasket will cause that, is because they can (and quite often do!!!) fail such that they create a DIRECT CONNECTION between the exhaust and the crankcase. Which pretty much describes your situation.

No, I don't think that the thick oil and additives will help, no matter what the cause of the symptom is.
