yes you need it.
the line goes to a T fitting that attaches to the underside of your throttle body on one side, and other side continues on to the canister sitting in the driver's side front corner.
BTW....what are you doing to the car?

im replacin all the injectors. so its to the throttle body? I believe it was blocked off already on the throttle body.

I thynk that was taken out. lol not sure I just recently bought the car. Also where does the hose from the fuel pressure regulator go to again. I have a semi major brain fart at the moment.

This is actually your egr solenoid vacuum pickup. The way it is supposed to be routed is one line to the egr to open it and the other line to under the throttle-body to provide vacuum. The solenoid will use this and provide vacuum to the egr when needed. If disconnected, the egr will not work as I have found out the hard way by not passing emissions. Make sure these are all connected properly.
