Missing oil passage plug ???

Hey Ya'll - I'm almost finished with the bottom end on the "tree-80-tree" and
I've got a question. Is there supposed to be an oil passage plug ( brass ?? )
under the #5 rear main cap ? I'm 99.999 percent sure that there is NOT one
under the cap. This is a one piece rear main seal block. If a plug should be there - what size ? and which side of the cap should it go ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated !!!!

Yes, there's a 1/2" cup plug underneath the rear main. If you left it out, all your oil will be bypassing the oil filter and circulating through your engine completely unfiltered.

No, the darker one is the rear main cap bolt hole. The plug is the shiny cup in the other hole.

VERY, VERRY important! Too shallow, or too deep and no oil to the bearings... &=not good.

In practice though it's nearly impossible to screw up the depth. The diameter of the bore changes so you can't drive it too far. As long as you don't leave it so far up that it's occluding the cross drilled hole you're fine.
