broken filler neck?
broken filler neck?
A few days ago i had to put a ne w fuel pump in my Camaro. In order to get the gas tank out one of the guys helping me had to stick a long screwdriver down the filler neck and kinda jerk it up and down to get it out of there. Ever since then the cap wont go back on right and when the tank is full it will actually spill out and run down the side of my car. The cap will go in about a half of a turn until it starts to click and then i have to grab the sides real hard in order to turn it a little more, but even that doesnt stop it from leaking.
My question is are there any caps that can help this, like maybe one with a rubber gasket around it or something, or should i look into getting a new filler neck, and also how much would something like that cost?
I also read in another thread to cut the filler neck off and hose clamp a new one on with a rubber hose, is that my only option?
thanks in advance to any responces.
