86 IROC-Z Transmission Cooler Lines

Are the transmission cooler line fittings on a 86 IROC-Z 700r4 brake line style fittings or are they quick disconnect fittings. I think the original owner put in the wrong trani cooler line fittings, hence why I have a large trani leak.

Re: 86 IROC-Z Transmission Cooler Lines

The flair fittings are leaking on my transmission cooler lines at the fittings, but mostly at where the line goes into the fitting. What is the the best way to get to these lines. I can't get access to the lines. It looks like the best way is to drop the rear crossmember to the transmission and drop the transmission about 6 inches. I just don't really want to drop the transmission.

That is the best way. Just be sure to take the distributor cap off before you do it.
