How far does a pressed in stud go into the boss?

I have to pin the pressed-in studs on my heads, but even with a 90 deg. drill adapter, I still wont be able to get them in straight. Ill have to angle them and I want to make sure the pin will actually intersect the entire stud. How far in does it go?
