New Valve cover question

Okay I got my new valve covers yesterday and I am going to do the install on Sunday. 305...TBI. Of the three holes in the valve cover they sold me TWO breathers in lieu and the oil cap which I know I can fill the oil this way. And I know that the third hole is for the PCV.

My question is can I really run breathers in each valve covers?

Not if you want to have a working PCV system.

Re: New Valve cover question

so what do I put in that third hole? The covers have 3 holes and 3 grommets. It does not seem big enough for a oil cap as long as the grommet is in it.

Re: New Valve cover question

One side gets a PCV valve, the other side gets a breather, and an oil filler cap goes in the third hole.

Re: New Valve cover question

I understand that. They did not have an oil cap that fit and substituted an additional breather. I since posting have talked to the dealer and they are fitting me up with a closed grommet.

That will work. You can also get oil-fill caps that are 'push-on' style that will fit on just like a plug or breather cap. You can use any of the holes for an oil-fill hole... just pull out the breather or PCV valve to fill, then put it back. My covers only have one hole in each and thats what I do.
