1989 Camaro RS?

First off, I'd like to say hello to everyone as this my first post.

I just bought a 1989 Camaro RS and wanted to know what types of things I can do for modding (rims, tires, exhaust, etc.)? Any suggestions are welcome.

In my opinion I would stick to making it look pretty because no matter what you do to that motor its not going to perform.

Re: 1989 Camaro RS?

Hey 84 Z28, I'm fairly new to this as well. I have a 89 formula/L03/2.73 posi. This is a summer daily driver, any ideas how I can get more seat of the pants hp without spending much $ (I love junk yard scrounging).

Re: 1989 Camaro RS?

Im not in touch with your LO3 but I would start with a full exhaust front to back and maybe go for some better gears in the rearend. As for your TBI I have no clue. I would go and check out the TBI board on here and ask what you should to with that.

If you are committed to the v6, you can build a 3.4 and it will drop right in (using your intake and the 3.4 injectors). You can also turbocharge that 3.4 in the process. There are a lot of members doing this over at the v6 board. I

If not, swap in a v8.

My car started off as a 2.8l v6 and I swapped in a tpi out of a GTA and megasquirted it.

Re: 1989 Camaro RS?

Thanks for the info 84 Z28. I have heard I can get 3.42 gears out of a V6 f-body. Do you know if I can swap out my 2.73's and use my posi?

If your going to the junk yard looking for gears you should just take the whole rear end and swap it and call it a day.
