Winter storage tips for my 89 T/A
I'm storing my T/A from Nov to April (must be Canadian Eh) for the first time since I purchased the car.
Anyone with any tips on preparation before the bird goes into hibernation and start up protocols would be appreciated.
She's being stored in a 10 by 20 secure storage facility.
Thanks

This article should give you a good idea of how to prep your car for winter storage and start it up again in the spring. http://www.highperformancepontiac.co...age/index.html

That article was ok but some people do a couple things different when storing. This is just my 2 cents. Before I put my car away I always do an oil change and make sure there's fresh oil in the motor. Check the freeze point of your anti-freeze I make sure my is aleast good to -20 below and try in throw some dryer sheets in the interior in case the possibilty of a rondent issue. And put the car up on jack stands to avoid flats spots in the tires. And before start up in the spring I pull all the plugs and turn over then motor until I get good oil pressure.

Don't know if this is listed in the links that were posted, but definitely put some Stabil additive in the gas tank, then run it for about 10 minutes so that the additive makes it into the fuel rail and injectors. Stabil prevents old gas from leaving scale or deposits in the injectors. It also works good for carbureted cars. My dad let his 74 Vette sit for a few years, and you should've seen how much scale there was inside the carb. It wouldn't even attempt to run until we tore down the carb, cleaned everything, and put a rebuild kit in it. After that, he let it sit for another year, and it fired right up the next time since we put the Stabil in the gas.

I have been storing my car for 6 years now for 6 months at a time and all I do is put a nice car cover over it. Put stabil into the gas tank, and disconnect the battery. Other than that nothing else really needs to be done.
