650hp 383 build

Hey guys I'm new to the forum I just bought a 1990 I-Roc and i am going to build a 383 stroker for the car, I'm looking to get about 650 to the ground and and run 10's going to be a overall fun car some street and some track use. Looking for ideas on cam, heads, pistons, intake and exhaust for the car as well as a general use transmission that can handle 650hp.

Thanks.
Chris

You'd need a power-adder. 650 N/A HP to the wheels isn't going to be even remotely streetable.

On that note and ideas on a Power adder. I have always loved super
chargers

I would like to keep the cost under 10k for the motor

Not enough money by half. Pick some more realistic goals.

you would need a REAL strong big block to come close to that, like a 540, not for 10grand though

Re: 650hp 383 build

You could do it with a 2 stage NOS kit but $10k will not be enough to keep such a small engine together. Making that much power in a SBC means nothing about the engine will be factory or very streetable.

Having an engine with that much power means not just the transmission but the whole powertrain and suspension need to be able to handle it. If you can't get the power to the ground, you won't get into the 11's.

The basic motor is only part of the cost. There will be a lot of associatied parts to go with it to hold and make that power. Fuel system will be one. Exhaust system will be another. The parts and money will add up fast.

Re: 650hp 383 build

Look at my sig, I am hoping it will produce in the 600hp range at the flywheel. I know It's well over 10k. It's only heads and charger shy of being finished which of coarse, is a huge chunk of change, around 4 grand not to mention I have to put the intercooler kit together myself.
