Questions about Machining a Block

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but my question is as follows. My car has a 427 Tall deck in it. Over the course of changing a cam, i believe i adjusted one of the valves wrong. The result was a chewed up cam, lifter, and. when the lifter was damaged, I believe it could have hurt the block, it looked like it may have. I put the original cam and lifters back in, and while i did that, i put an intake and spacers on it, as necessary with a tall deck. We had to screw with the distributor because it was not long enough, but we got it to work. On the test drive however, the car lost oil pressure and quit. We pulled the distributor only to find out that the gear was chewed up. We rigged something together, and got the car to work, but it would lose oil pressure at idle once warmed up. My questions would be, is this becuase of possible damage to the lifter hole, or becuase of a screwed up oil pump? And if it is because of damage to the lifter hole, is it possible to machine the hole out, and possibly use a larger diameter lifter? Thanks in advance. I hope I described this halfway understandable.

You can have the lifter bore honed and sleeved.

Low oil pressure is probably due to damaged bearings.
