oil pan problems!!! Please Help

I am putting an old school 350 in my 91 bird and I need to know which oil pan to use

from 82-85 gm only used the 305 with a passenger side dip stick. I need a two piece rear main seal oil pan with the dipstick on the drivers side with the provision for the exsaust

I was looking at the 70 style oil pan for camaros and birds and it looks right but I wanted to make sure before buying anthing.

please help so I can button this one up

The pan for a 70s Camaro will work fine. Clears everything.

Not sure about the "exhaust" thing?

I was talking about the way the exsaust tucks up by the oil pan and keeps us third genners from using a stock oil pan

Really?

What kind of pan did they come with, if not stock?

I ran this one for many many years, on a 400, with the Moroso Teflon-coated windage tray; with the stock L69 exhaust, then Edelbrock TES, then SLP 1¾". Seemed to work pretty good and fit everything just fine. And it's just an old stock pan for early 70s Camaros. Note however, that it holds an extra quart of oil.... 5 quarts IN THE PAN, plus the filter.

here is a pic of the stock oil pan that came off most 350's and the black oil pan is the one that is used on our cars with the indentation for the exsaust

Re: oil pan problems!!! Please Help

That's a truck pan. Stock for a truck. Has nothing to do with being a 350; they used that on 400s and 305s IN TRUCKS too.

The other one is a A/F/G body pan. Stock for all of those (our cars of course being F bodies).

You're right, a truck pan won't fit our chassis.

But "stock" doesn't tell the whole story; as SOME "stock" pans fit our cars just fine. Like the 70½ Z28 pan I linked you to.
