Re: piston/rods pressed or floating
Hi,
A little less side wall loading, a little less friction and
ease of assembly and disasembly.
I've always used them for the latter
Good locks and attention to assembly.
Either way good

I doubt you'd notice any difference in friction or side loading. With a pressed pin, there's no locks to fail. With a floating pin, you don't need any special equipment for assembly and disassembly.

yea thats another reason why i am considering floating pins for this .easy to disassemble. usually i use pressed on the fuel injected motors cause thats what they come with. but i have built a few with floating pins most of them were carbed thought. wich one is lighter do you know?

Re: piston/rods pressed or floating
The only advantage to pressed that I can think of is if you are the machine shop getting paid to do it. The very small amount extra that the rods cost for a floating pin pays for itself the first time they are assembled (by you - for free). However not all pistons come with the locks or grooves for them.
