Removing papint from Intake manifold?

Hey guys, whey I assmebled my heads/intake combo, I painted the intake black to make a sleeper look to the engine bay. Now after some gas leaks and what not, it looks like a zebra. What can I use to remove the paint completely. I will be taking the manifold off to do this. Brake clean?

Permatex 4MA gasket remover or Easy-Off oven cleaner, followed by the thin kind of paint stripper that has acetone or MEK or toluene in it; at the quarter car wash.

Sometimes, putting it in the dishwasher can have an amazing effect.

Sandblasting looks great if you can do it.

I don't have access to a sandblaster. Dishwasher? I would have never thought that would work?

Any machine shop can sandblast for you for a fair price.

I thought dishwashing detergent is supposed to be hard on aluminum..?

I'd just bring it to the quarter car wash. Set it on the ground and soak it in Easy-off. Go get a burger. Then come back and hose it off. It should sparkle it'll be so clean. Or a spray can of paint stripper, and let it soak.

Re: Removing papint from Intake manifold?

I don't think sandblasting is what you want... you want it BEAD blasted, if you are going to get it blasted at all. Sandblasting will clean it, but it will look really dull and rough.

Get it shot with glass bead (bead blasted) and it will look exactly like it does when a brand new intake manifold comes out of the box. I've done 3 intakes of my own this way, and countless customer parts this way - I used to have a job sand/bead blasting. On aluminum, glass bead is the only way to go

KUTZIT
This is some nasty sh**. But it will even take off factory paint (the stubborn kind).
Read & follow label directions carefully.
It's available almost everywhere that sells home improvement stuff.

Be sure to give it enough time to work.
