Comp valve spring trouble

Comp valve spring trouble

Just got my heads back together, the problem is that the inner spring hits on the valve seals. the seals are brand new also. could this be a problem with the seals being on wrong?? and body else run into this problem? any help is appriciated!

Sounds like you might need to have your heads machined to work with different seals for those springs.

Ok i run CCA-986-16 and CCA-503-16 these came in a kit together so i imagine they are matched but i dont know. they are on vortec heads, i have already had the seats machined but maybe i need to have the guide bosses machined down also??? thanks.

Uh, yea. Vortecs have notoriously tall FAT guide bosses. Bring the heads into your local machine shop and tell them what you've got. Common as the day is long. They'll know exactly what needs to be done.
