158K miles, my pistons look pretty clean?

Some quick shot of my shortblock, i believe its all original

this winter i'm tearin down the motor to put on new heads and a bigger cam.

Car was running VERY lean tho so could that have burned off any carbon on the pistons?... they look pretty clean for 158,000 miles i thought. i was expecting more carbonized pistons.

the pics look like there is a burn mark in the shape of the combustion chamber but its not there, it is a light mark from the camera flash. the pistons look pretty clean

not sure... maybe mildly ported L98 aluminums since they should fit my bill as far as power is concerned.

but if i can stretch some funds i'll pick up something else, maybe give those new patriot heads a shot but they are 1206 gasket and my HSR needs material added to the base to seal a 1206

looks alot better than my poor old lg4, it had carbon potato chips stuck to most of the pistons, but its in a better place now...
