vacuum problem

i recently aquired an 89 firebird 305tbi 5-speed. The problem is almost all the vacuum lines are broken. The car starts and runs but as u can imagine with problems. Is there somewhere that will have the routing clearer than the auto zone website?

Re: vacuum problem

get a haynes or chilton manual, I recommend the chilton book though, it's worth the extra cost.

Re: vacuum problem

I've found that vacuum in general is just difficult to find help with. One thing that I may suggest is just looking for high resolution engine bay shots that may be able to give you a general idea of what things should LOOK like; of course, make sure engine is the same configuration as yours. (Same mods, same fuel setup) I would also suggest doing what I did, and buying color coded tapes to wrap around the mating end of the lines so you know what goes where when it comes time to put it back together, because believe me, you may tell yourself that this is the last time you have the thing taken apart, but it's not ; )

Re: vacuum problem

You might try searching for vacuum diagrams in this board. Someone posted a few detailed diagrams for various years recently. You can also find some diagrams in the FAQ board also.
