Re: AC/Smog removal

same thing i plan to do they make what are called "delete pulley" 's for the smog pump and the AC compressor.... only one person makes the smog pump delete pulley and that goes for $65 or around there.... as for the AC delete pulley there are varying ones on Ebay ranging in price from $20 to $60.....

Re: AC/Smog removal

There is a write up in the tech articles on removing the SMOG - then all you need is an A/C pulley delete.

Re: AC/Smog removal

No problem - I did that to mine - you'll have to maybe try a few different belt lengths, as I got the one in the tech article and it wasn't right length. I kept my A/C, but that would save some expense anyways.

Re: AC/Smog removal

yea i knwo all about the delete pulleys and stuff, but can i just bypass the pulley all together and use a shorter belt? also that big ugly black box that is on the passenger side firewall that has the heater core in it right? has anybody ever tried to relocate it?

I don't beleive you can just use a shorter belt, I've never seen a way to reroute a shorter belt with no A/C AND AIR there - you still need to keep the other things rotating the correct direction (ie water pump, alternator, ps pump). But I may be wrong here.

No - the heater core is inside the car, pass side, in the dash - the two radiator hoses that go into the firewall, connect to the heater core. The black box can be removed, many have done it - you'll have to patch in some sheet metal where it is a part of the firewall.
