rocdriver,

yes your tps should not move once tightened. Sounds like you might have to take some vice grips or pliers and pull those things off. Once they're both out, your going to have to drill out the threads and use a tap and dye to install the helicoils. I'm not sure on the size your going to need. I'm sure you can drop by a machine shop to have them do it for a few dollars.

The screws are an odd ball not US National Fine Thread. Also made of Aluminum.

IRC some posters on TGO have used 10-32 NFT and a steel screw. Do a search on TPS and screw. Good luck.

Re: TPS screws broke/ stripped

dont pull the screw out. i had the same problem get the other screw out remove the sensor.

grab the screw with a pair of strong vice plyer grips.

turn/twist the screw out so you an still use the threads and screw in a new set of screws.

go to tpiparts.com you buy a new set of screws/bolts there.

Re: TPS screws broke/ stripped

sometimes it is just stuck and that isnt an option. i just went through this and had to drill it.

i did get the bolts from tpiparts.com but it doesn't fit because as was mentioned, it isnt a standard size.

i'm just having problems getting the car started now since i put the tb back in, now trying to figure that out
